They asked to me what to do now when the ship owner from Faroe Islands, Mr. Bjarti Mohr did not comply again with seafarers and their wages for the last 6 months are not paid yet and their E/C period is already finished since April 2008 for the most of crew on board. The just supply from ship owner is the provisions and energy for acomodation. Previous agent rejected the agency appointment and they have lien the ship in court complaining for the outstanding amount of services rendered to the ship. Ship has not main engine for sailing. The ship owner representative in Las Palmas, Mr. Kartin said to crew and me, he is complete confused due he have taik with lawyer in Faroe Islands and info furnished to Mr. Kartis is that Faroe Islands Goverment has realeased to Mr. Mohr the guarantee documentation for crewdit bank in order to pay and repatriate the crew and complete the repairing jobs started 2 years ago. Dear Astrid: Could you fumish me any contact of and Faroe Islands Maritime Authority and Faroe Islands Union representative in order to seek the support for this abandon Faroe Islands flag abandon ship? I shall apreciate too much a coordinate comnpalin to Mr. Mohr in order to set a definitive short time to comply with crew and if not, an inmediately actions from Faroe Is. I have been advised from a Human Organitation in Las Palmas that some seafarers from TOPAZ are seeking support for legal actions against the TOPAZ responsable. Some seafarers are very angry ands they are preparing contact with Faroe Islands and Scandinavian Jomalist in order to do publicity for their complain. Mr. Kartin advised to me that according with his, expectation, finanace matter can be clarify in following days. I have asked today to seafarers in a sort meeting on board to wait any publicity or legal action in order company get solutiorns for their wages unpaid and repatriation requested. Ship responsable must be aware if a clear and inmediately response does not satisface to crew, more problems and debts for ship owner company would arise. Crewmembers are in the thinking they have been cheated. In order to bring the TOPAZ crew and the ship in the right way, I strong complain to you arrange the settle of unpaid wages and repatriation requested from seafarers as soon as posible. I expect that you will be agree with me that in the actual situations, words or letters from ship manager increases the disappointment among the crewmembers. The employment contracts are broken from the side of comany due they have not been paid more than 3 months. In that conditions the normal job on board is close to be imposible. PAgina 2 de 2 Crew toid me this morning they will wait a bit more- I am afraid if payment and repatriation are not done in the following 5/6 days actions could be taken it would made the situation worse for everyone. Your just answer waiting from seafarers and me is the settlement and repatriation. Please response in this way.
